Board of Directors - Expression of Interest

Study abroad and internationalization can change lives. However, those who could benefit most from the experience are the least likely to have the opportunity. There are many reasons for this – including anxiety, access, and ability. We work hard at addressing these issues, as do many administrators and faculty throughout the Community Colleges of America. However, probably the biggest barrier to the underserved student is the cost of studying abroad.

The Wishing Chair Foundation, a United States 501(c)(3) organization was established to create scholarships for underserved students. We are asking you to help us help more young Americans to have the kind of experience that educates, informs, stimulates, builds confidence and builds bridges. An experience that is designed to enhance the awareness of other cultures, a tolerance of other ideas, new perspectives on old themes, and most of all, empathy for fellow human beings.

We invite you to be part of this goal.
